It’s back to school so to speak and therefore smoothie time again.
My newfound love of coffee and the hubby’s love for iced coffee has made me keep a jug of the ebony liquid handy in the fridge. Along with syrups. Oh the syrups I have started making! Who needs store bought stuff when
one can DIY? Don’t worry, I will share the syrup with you.
The dolce latte I made on Sunday has been on my mind ever since, and I realise now that I never told you all about it. I was too busy enjoying it. That too will be shared.
The latte is delicious but not very healthy. So this morning I tried to recreate it as a breakfast smoothie.
It was ok but not the flavour I wanted, nor as thick as a smoothie should be. I had no bananas at home which is why.
I will have to have another go at this. The aim here is to get a rich and creamy smoothie with the sweet flavour of a whipped cream topped cinnamon latte, but without the extra kilos one of those lattes will eventually give you.
My first thoughts are; skimmed lactose free milk or a non-dairy version such as coconut milk, fat free yoghurt, frozen bananas, cinnamon syrup and cold coffe.
Back to my laboratory aka the kitchen!
